Basketballghana.com can report San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team has clinched its first win in 2021 with budding Ghanaian player Nathan Mensah featuring in the win.
San Diego clinched a 78-65 win over Colorado State University for its debut win in the New Year; the team had lost 67-70 in a January 3, 2021 contest prior.
Mensah started at Center and delivered 11 points, three blocks and eight rebounds in 24 minutes of play; he led all players in the contest in blocks.
Nathan grabbed three of his eight rebounds on the offensive end and his overall production was an improvement on his performance in the first game between the two teams.
In the loss, Mensah played 24 minutes as a starter and produced four points, a block, two assists and four rebounds; his minutes are being monitored in his first season after recovering from a respiratory illness last season.
San Diego plays Nevada next on January 7 with the former having seven wins in nine games this season.
