Basketballghnaa.com was present at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court where the special edition of the 2020 UPAC Basketball Championship took place.
Radford University College ended the two day tournament with the title after beating Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 58-46 in the final game.
The win means Radford University has won its first ever Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) title since the inception of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament in 2011.
Beating KNUST was the perfect revenge for Radford after the latter lost 32-45 to KNUST at the preliminary stage in Group B.
Despite leading the contest through three quarters heading to the fourth quarter, KNUST blew its chance to finally get over the hump and clinch its maiden UPAC title.
The Kumasi based team has consistently played in the semifinals of the tournament but missed out on grabbing the title. KNUST lost the 2015 final to Accra Technical University after letting the game’s lead slip.
Takoradi Technical University placed third at the expense of University of Professional Studies (UPSA).
