Basketballghana.com can report Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has progressed to the final game of the 2020 UPAC.
The special edition of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is taking place at the Tema Community 4 Court.
KNUST beat University of Professional Studies (UPSA) 55-27 to progress to the final of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition. This is KNUST’s second final after playing in the 2015 Final against Accra Technical University but lost the game.
The game was blessed early on with a great dunk from Roland Akowuah that got the crowd roaring with excitement; Leslie Kassenu added a three point shot to give KNUST a 32-16 half time win.
Emmanuel Kwame Larbi and Peter Edem Kpodo were the main threats for UPSA but their efforts weren’t enough to offset the huge deficit.
The game began on an exciting note with Akowuah’s slam but ended on a disappointing note with an air balled shot from the free throw from UPSA.
KNUST plays Radford University in the final game with Takoradi Technical University taking on UPSA in the third place game.
