Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has grabbed an important in Group B of the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Tournament.
The tournament is taking place at the Tema Community 4 Court with the knockout games set to take place on Wednesday, December 30 at the same location.
KNUST clinched a 47-32 win over Radford University College in a result which has serious implications on Radford University’s chances of qualification from Group B.
The loss means Radford’s record stands at a win and a loss in two games thus far in the contest thanks to a 51-36 win over Kumasi Technical University.
This means a big win for Kumasi Technical against KNUST in the final game of Day One takes them to the semifinals of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament.
Sam David scored on a couple of drives in the fourth quarter with Brouster Botchway scoring immediately with a three point shot but Godwin Tetteh and Abraham Allotey missed two easy layup attempts to close the gap summing up a frustrating late performance from Radford.
