Basketballghana.com can confirm spots for the top teams in Africa on the Basketball World Rankings have remained unchanged following the release of the latest rankings but a handful of countries outside the top bracket have gained significant points.

Nigeria, Angola, Senegal and Tunisia maintained their spots as Africa’s best ranked teams with Nigeria gaining a point following D’Tigers exploits in the second window of qualification games for the 2021 Africa Basketball Championship (AfroBasket).

Tunisia, Nigeria and Senegal all won three games played in the window at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda to lead Groups A, B and D respectively.

South Sudan gained nine points on the back of winning two of three qualification games in Group D falling to Nigeria in its sole loss.

The Luol Deng led nation has moved nine spots to 16th place on the continent and 98th in the world while Kenya ranks 20th in Africa after moving up seven spots.

The third window of qualification games is slated for February.
