Ghanaian-French international Yakuba Ouattara was in inspired form for France in the nation’s win over Germany this past weekend in the 2022 EuroBasket qualifiers.
France beat Germany 86-74 to clinch its second win in the latest window of qualification games that France beat Great Britain; Akwasi Yeboah born in Ghana featured for Great Britain in the loss.
Ouattara registered 24 points, three rebounds and a steal in 25 minutes of action off the bench to punch in a game MVP worthy performance.
Speaking in the aftermath of the top performance, the Coosur Real Betis Shooting Guard stated, “I came to do what I know how to do…I wanted to show that, even after arriving at the last minute, I could perform. And I also wanted to make everyone proud” according to L’Equipe.
Playing for France recently represented Ouattara’s 12th and 13th appearances for the European nation at the senior level; he was born in Tepa in Ghana’s Ashanti Region and moved to Betis from AS Monaco in the French League.
