Ahead of the 2020-2021 Season opener against University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) on Wednesday, November 25, Basketballghana.com can confirm San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team has been presented with Championship Rings for winning last season’s Mountain West Conference.
Ghanaian Center Nathan Mensah was present to receive his ring after helping the Aztecs to clinch the Conference thanks to a historic 30 wins in 32 games season last season.
6 foot 10 inch Mensah averaged 6.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes in 13 games last season before his season ended due to a respiratory issue.
He is expected to start at the Center position this season after making a full recovery from the health issue that ended his second season with the team.
Fellow Ghanaian Joel Mensah is expected to receive his ring following his two year run at San Diego before transferring to James Madison University this offseason to get a better opportunity to play heavy minutes.
Both players were based in Accra before moving to the US and can play the Power Forward position.
