Basketballghana.com can confirm Power Forward JaKarr Sampson has resigned with Indiana Pacers and is expected to be paid the veteran’s minimum salary on his one year deal.
Sampson is in line to be paid $1,882,867 in the upcoming 2020-2021 season for what is his second season with the team playing in the second unit during his debut season.
His signing means the frontcourt Indiana has last season will have the same look following the signing of Ghanaian Center Amida Brimah recently.
6 foot 10 Center Brimah played in preseason games for Indiana and was on the roster alongside Sampson, Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis and Goga Bitadze.
However, he was assigned to the team’s Gatorade League affiliate Fort Wayne Mad Ants before he tore his ACL and missed the entire season. The Gatorade League is the NBA’s Development League.
There is a logjam at the Center position and Indiana is likely to make some moves to clear space at the position with Turner heavily linked away from the team in multiple trade talks.
