Shama Senior High School Headmistress Regina Obiri has stated gifts from NBA and Brooklyn Nets star Point Guard Kyrie Irving will help the team to retain its Sprite Ball Championship title.

She made the statement when she received 12 pairs of NIKE Kyrie Five sneakers on behalf of the school as a reward from Irving for winning the 2019-2020 edition of Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball Championship.

Shama beat St. Louis Senior High School 15-14 to lift its first ever Sprite Ball title after clinching the bronze medal in the previous edition.

Speaking at the short presentation at the school’s premises, the veteran administrator was delighted with the gesture and stated:

“We really appreciate your kind gesture and this is going to help our ladies to train enough up to retain the trophy. We promise to work hard for what you have done for us.”

Kyrie Irving is a six time All Star, a World Cup and Olympic Gold medal winner.
