Central Regional Sports and Physical Education Coordinator Seth Ayensu has expressed his delight over the construction of a new basketball court for Mfantsipim School.
He made this statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com during the official commissioning of the facility at the school’s premises this weekend.
Opening the facility coincides with Mfantsipim’s 144th Year Anniversary celebration; the facility was funded by Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000 Year Groups.
“I am happy that this facility has been brought to Central Region and to no other school than the school that gives us the honours in basketball and one of the best in Ghana…I believe it is going to promote development of basketball in the region and again more talents here are going to be harnessed here, developed and even projected to international heights” he said.
The new facility has changing room, washrooms and a seating section for fans; Mfantsipim School is the most successful school in Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament-Sprite Ball Championship.
