Mfantsipim School Physical Education Department Head Ebenezer Appiah has thanked members of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) profoundly for funding the construction of a new basketball facility for the school.

The new facility was opened on Friday, November 12 as a major highlight of the school’s 144th Year Anniversary Celebration. The facility was opened by Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan.

MOBA 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000 Year Groups funded the project which cost One Million Ghana Cedis ($172,898) to build. The facility has washrooms and changing rooms.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com on the sidelines of the celebrations, Appiah stated, “We are very grateful to the sponsoring Year Group I mean MOBA for building this edifice for us…we just want to say a very big thank you to them for building this sports facility.”

Mfantsipim is the most successful team in the Sprite Ball Championship after bagging five titles and playing in nine finals. Earlier in the day, the school received NIKE Kyrie Five Sneakers from NBA star Kyrie Irving for their accomplishment.
