The newly constructed basketball court at Mfantsipim School has been commissioned and ready for use by the most decorated High School at the Sprite Ball Championship.
The commissioning took place earlier today at the school’s premises with Ghana’s Central Region Minister Kwamena Duncan headlining a host of dignitaries at the event.
Mfantsipim’s latest edifice forms part of a grand scheme to equip the school with a sports arena that boasts of a swimming pool and tennis court.
However, here are three facts about Mfantsipim’s shiny new court:
-Construction was funded by the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) and the commissioning of the facility coincides with the school’s 144th Year anniversary. Members of MOBA 1970,1980,1990 and 2000 funded the project.
-The total cost of the project is pegged at One Million Ghana Cedis ($172, 898); the facility comes with washrooms, changing rooms and a seating area for fans.
-The court was constructed in little over two months with the sod cutting ceremony taking place on September 12 at the site.
