Basketballghana.com can confirm FAP Basketball Club has won the Cameroon Basketball League after coming out on top of a Final Four Competition Format organized recently.
The team beat Universite de Douala 64-50 to lift the title; the season was halted due to the corona virus pandemic like many others in the world.
This is the latest piece of conquest for FAP after the team sealed qualification to compete in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The team will compete in the inaugural edition of BAL later this year with the rescheduled continental tournament to be held from December 5 to December 18 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
FAP has been drawn in the Nile Conference which has US Monastir (Tunisia), Rivers Hoopers (Nigeria), Ferroviario do Maputo (Mozambique), Zamalek (Egypt) and Patriots from Rwanda.
BAL is backed by the NBA and basketball’s body on the continent FIBA Africa and has 12 teams due to compete in December. Like FAP, Patriots clinched the league title in Rwanda last month.
