Ghanaian born French International player Yakuba Ouattara made his return from injury this weekend and helped Coosur Real Betis clinch a league win this weekend.
Betis beat Gipuzkoa 74-62 in Round 9 of the 2020-2021 Spanish Endesa League with Ouattara registering three points, two rebounds and a steal in nine minutes.
Prior to his injury, Ouattara started as an undersized Small Forward; the 6 foot 3 inch player usually plays the Point Guard or Shooting Guard position. He started off the bench on his return.
Ouattara missed multiple games last month after suffering a trabecular fracture of the external tibial plate in a game against Obaradoiro in the league.
He was expected to miss a month of action but he made a faster than expected recovery to return to the team; beating Gipuzkoa was Real Betis’ second win in eight games; the team ranks 15th in the league.
The Tepa born player’s return is expected to spark the team’s rise up the standings. He is averaging eight points and three rebounds in 17.3 minutes across three games.
