Basketballghana.com can confirm the EuroLeague Regular season game between Panathinaikos and Zenit has been postponed to a yet to be determined date. Ghana’s Ben Bentil plays for Panathinaikos.
The game was scheduled to be played later tonight at 19:00 GMT in Russia but a member of the Panathinaikos team tested positive for COVID 19.
After a steady drop in the number of infections and deaths in Europe earlier this year, several reports of sharp rise in infections has gripped the continent and multiple countries are reintroducing stricter restrictions.
Greek side Panathinaikos was set to compete in its fifth game in the continental competition after winning two of the past four games played until the announcement was made.
In those games, Ghana’s Bentil has featured and averaged 3.5 points and two rebounds in 8:33 minutes as a rotation player off the bench.
His last outing was in an 82-68 win over Fenerbache where he registered two points and four rebounds in 14 minutes. Bentil is in his second season with the Athens based team.
