Abass

After scoring single digit points in consecutive games, Ghanaian-Italian International Shooting Guard Awudu Abass broke out of his low scoring outings.

The Como born player who can the Small Forward position scored 15 points in Virtus Bologna’s 95-76 win over Telenet Giants Antwerp in the EuroCup.

The competition is the lower division on the European continental scene and Abass’ scoring outing came at a time he got his latest call up to the Italian National Men’s Team.

Abass was impressive for Bologna as he converted two of four attempts from two point range, three of five three point attempts and both free throw attempts respectively in the contest.

He played 20 minutes off the bench in his fifth game in this season’s competition; he has started just a game thus far in the tournament as he continues to integrate with the team he signed for this offseason.

In 17 minutes, Abass is averaging 7.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in the continental championship. Virtus has won all five games and leads Group C.
