Basketballghana.com can report a COVID 19 test has returned positive in Greek side Panathinaikos Camp; Ghana Forward Ben Bentil plays for the team.
The test was confirmed in an announcement by the club earlier on today in a statement release but the identity of the infected person was not revealed.
“Panathinaikos OPAP announces that one member of our team was tested positive for COVID-19. His health condition is being closely monitored by the specialists and our medical staff. Panathinaikos OPAP follows all protocols of National Public Health Organization” the statement read.
This comes ahead of the team’s latest EuroLeague game in the 2020-2021 season on Thursday, October 29 against Russian side Zenit.
Panathinaikos has won two of four games in the continental competition with the team clinching an 82-68 win over Fenerbache in its last outing.
Bentil has competed in all four games for the Athens-based team and has averaged 3.5 points and two rebounds in 8:33 minutes of play off the bench.
