Basketballghana.com can confirm rising Ghanaian Player Nathan Mensah practiced with his San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team for the first time.
This was Mensah’s first contact with the team after going down with respiratory issues in the immediate past season when the Aztecs went on a historic run with 30 wins and just two losses.
According to San Diego Tribune Union, the 6 foot 10 inch player is to be weaned off blood thinners before a practice or a game and continue treatment with blood thinners after.
Mensah was medically cleared on Monday, October 26 and joined his team in a training session which was the first time the team had a five on five scrimmage; five on five scrimmages weren’t held due to corona virus restrictions.
The former Accra based player is heading to his third year at San Diego and is expected to breakout after showing signs before the health issues emerged in the past season.
In 13 games, Mensah averaged 6.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 20 minutes.
