North Carolina State University’s Ghanaian Center Ebenezer Dowuona has stated soccer is still his first sport despite having a developing basketball background.
The first year player earned an athletic scholarship to North Carolina after starring at The Heritage High School and is set to make his debut in US Men’s College Basketball in the 2020-2021 season.
He made the revelation on Media Day where he answered questions on various topics including top players he would love to have in his dream team.
On the matter of sports discipline picks outside of basketball he enjoyed, the former Accra native stated, “soccer because soccer was my first sport it still is.”
The 6 foot 10 inch Center was born and raised in the West Africa nation Ghana which has a huge football following and that could have influenced Dowuona’s answer; he moved to the United States in his early teens.
His older brother, Emmanuel, is a second year player at Purdue University after red shirting his freshman year. Both play the Power Forward/ Center positions.
