Basketballghana.com can confirm Tema Community 2 Basketball Club has upgraded its name prior to the start of the 2020 Tema Basketball League.
The team is to be known as the C2 Hyenas in the upcoming Tema League after competing as just Community 2 in prior league seasons.
The name upgrade comes in light of the team’s touched up jersey that was revealed earlier this week with Ghana’s leading basketball portal getting an exclusive look at the new kit.
This marks an uptick in activity for the team after a quiet offseason that was littered with several high profile player moves to other league contenders like Tema Community 4 and Spintex Knights.
In the 2019 campaign, C2 finished in fourth place after failing to get past Knights in the second round of the playoffs; the team is yet to win a title since the league’s inception in 2016.
This year’s league start date has been delayed for several months due to the corona virus pandemic but consistent easing of restrictions related to the virus has cleared the way for commencement later this year.
