Basketballghana.com can confirm eight teams will compete in the StreetBall At The Mall Basketball Tournament later this month.
The 2020 edition of the annual competition runs from October 17 to October 18 at the Kumasi City Mall in Ghana’s Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.
This year’s edition is the fourth and is scheduled to be the first high profile basketball competition to be held in Ghana after the ban on contact sports was lifted last month; the ban was put in place to reduce the risk of COVID 19 infection in the country.
Defending Champions Ayeduase Snipers lead the list of teams that has Razors, Klicks, Patasi Invaders, Comets, Destroyers, Dichemso Chiefs Basketball Academy and Health Ballers competing for this year’s title.
Most of the competing teams feature in the Kumasi Basketball League; Snipers won the immediate past season of the league.
The competition is organized by sportswear outfit ClockWork Brand with support from the Kumasi City Mall. ClockWork is responsible for eye catching jersey designs for multiple basketball teams in Ghana including that of defending Tema Basketball League Champions Nungua Coldstore.
