In his first EuroCup game since signing for Virtus Bologna this offseason, Ghanaian-Italian Player Awudu Abass was splendid as he led Bologna to victory.
The Italian side recorded a 76-61 win over Lietkabelis in the opening round of the 2020-2021 campaign in Europe’s second tier basketball tournament.
Abass was in top form as he delivered a 19 point, two rebounds outing in just 20 minutes off the bench; he started this past weekend’s round of Serie A games where he scored 12 points in a win over one his former teams, Cantu.
Three other players on Bologna’s roster scored in double figures including Amar Alibegovic’s 12 points; veteran Guard Milos Teodosic did not feature in the game.
Lietkabelis Guard Kyle Vinales top scored in the game by recording one more point than Abass in the contest the Lithuanian side lost by 15 points.
Bologna’s next continental assignment is on Wednesday, October 7 against Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban; Virtus plays Abass’s immediate past team Germani Brescia on Sunday, October 4.
