Basketballghana.com can confirm Italian League side Virtus Bologna will commence its 2020-2021 EuroCup campaign today against Lietkabelis.
The contest tips off at 16:00 GMT with Ghanaian-Italian Player Awudu Abass in line to feature for Bologna against the Lithuanian side.
The EuroCup is Europe’s continental basketball’s second tier competition that has teams from multiple countries battle for honours. The top tier is the EuroLeague.
Bologna and Abass got off to a solid start in the domestic league this past weekend when Virtus recorded an 84-66 win over Cantu.
Small Forward/ Shooting Guard Abass delivered 12 points, two assists and a rebound in 25 minutes in his debut game for Bologna.
He moved to the team from Germani Brescia this offseason after spending two seasons at the club; Cantu is one of his former teams.
Bologna’s next league game is against Brescia on Sunday, October 4; born to a Ghanaian father in Italy, Abass has represented the European nation internationally at several stages including the 2013 EuroBasket where he led the team to a gold medal.
