Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass helped Virtus Bologna clinch its first win of the 2020-2021 Italian Basketball League Season.

Bologna beat Cantu 84-65 in the opening game of the new campaign this past weekend following the disruption to the latter part of the immediate past season due to the corona virus.

Abass registered 12 points, a steal, two assists and a rebound in 25 minutes in the win for his new team; his solid outing came at the expense of one his former teams.

This offseason, Abass moved from Germani Brescia after spending two seasons with the club to join Bologna; aside Cantu, he has played for Olimpio Milano where he won the Serie A title.

Abass was one of three players on Bologna’s roster to score in double figures in the game with Josh Adams scoring 11 points and Amedeo Tessitori adding 13 points.

Former Cantu player Abass converted four of five attempts from two point range and scored one of three attempts from three point range. He scored on his only free throw attempt.
