Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President David Addo Ashong joined other Sports Federations and Association Heads of contact sports in a headline meeting with the National Sports Authority (NSA).

The meeting was held earlier this week to discuss issues in relation to the resumption of competitive contact sports in Ghana as the country continues its fight against the Corona Virus.

In his latest address to the nation, Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo, announced the lifting of a ban on contact sports as the West African nation continues to ease restrictions due to a drop in infections and related deaths.

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku and Ghana Arm Wrestling Federation President Chrles Osei Asibey were among the high profile personalities who attended the meeting which was held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

All Heads were required to provide details on safety protocols athletes should adopt during competitions to avoid infection; such details include testing of athletes who are camped.

The meeting was chaired by National Sports Authority (NSA) Boss Prof. Peter Twumasi; he chaired the meeting on behalf of Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.
