Basketballghana.com gathers Mfantsipim School’s Basketball Project is projected to cost One Million Ghana Cedis ($172,898) to construct.
The project was officially launched over this past weekend with a handful of Old Boys in attendance for the sod cutting ceremony at the School’s Campus.
Ghana’s leading hoops portal can confirm members of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) are exclusively funding this big project.
Members of MOBA 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000 are funding the brand new edifice that is set to be the best facility in Ghana at the Senior High School level.
Mfantsipim’s facility which is already under construction is in line to have two changing rooms with a grand stand for spectators.
Reports trickling in indicate the project is part of a grand sports complex that would have top facilities for football, swimming and volley ball disciplines.
Mfantsipim is the most successful school in Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball tournament-Sprite Ball Championship-with five titles and multiple final appearances.
The edifice when completed is expected to upgrade the quality of teams from the school.
