Basketballghana.com can confirm the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has agreed in principle to sign a five year deal with Petroleum giant Total.
The deal between the Federation and the energy giant’s outlet in the West African nation-Total E&P Nigeria Limited- is to be officially signed on Tuesday, September 15.
Total Nigeria’s Headquarters in Lagos will host the event which is slated to have NBBF President Musa Kida and other dignitaries in attendance.
This development comes after a two year deal between the parties is set to come to an end; the financial package will sponsor Divisions 1 and 2 Leagues in the country.
Details of the financial arrangement are yet to be disclosed but President Kida was in buoyant following the announcement; “We are excited about this long term partnership targeted at the grassroots which is one of the core focus of this federation” he said according to news outlet BluePrint.
Division I side Rivers Hoopers has qualified to compete in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) maiden edition.
