Basketballghana.com can confirm budding Ghanaian basketball player Emmanuel Dowuona will compete for Purdue University’s Men’s Basketball without change regarding his jersey number.
The second year player who missed what would have been his freshman year in the program in the 2018-2019 season, will continue to wear Number 4 on the back of his jersey.
The Boilermakers are preparing for the 2020-2021 season after an abrupt end to the 2019-2020 season due to the corona virus pandemic.
Dowuona is one of two Centers on the team and his 6 foot 10 inch frame is dwarfed by first year player Zach Edey’s 7 foot 3 inch frame.
After a slow start to life in the team with averages of 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.4 minutes across nine games off the bench, Dowuona is expected to play more minutes and produce more after spending time around the team.
He was ranked 87 on ESPN’s 100 coming out of Westwood Christian School in Miami and his younger brother is North Carolina State University first year player Ebenezer Dowuona.
