Basketballghana.com can confirm the second edition of Pops Mensah-Bonsu’s Basketball Camp in Ghana is to be staged in a virtual form.
This is because of present COVID 19 restrictions in Ghana that has the West African nation’s international borders shut and a ban on contact sports.
Pops Mensah-Bonsu’s Foundation-which has morphed into SEED Academy: Ghana-held its first Camp in Ghana’s capital, Accra in 2019 with over 50 youngsters participating.
The second edition however, will take place online on Thursday, August 17 to ensure safety protocols are not breached during the camp. This was stated on SEED Academy’s official Twitter page.
The Camp is to be headlined by former Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks Forward Mensah-Bonsu with the likes of Basketball Africa League President Amadou Fall set to participate as a Guest Speaker.
Since retiring from professional basketball, Mensah-Bonsu has gone to become General Manager of NBA Gatorade League outfit Capital City Go-Go; the team is tied to Washington Wizards in the NBA.
