Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate a handful of high profile figures in the basketball space are in line to make an appearance during SEED Academy: Ghana’s Virtual Basketball Camp.
The Camp is slated to take place on Thursday, August 27 with the former Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors Forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu headlining the guest list.
The program is taking on a virtual form because of safety protocols in connection with the corona virus pandemic; in 2019, Mensah-Bonsu was present in the country and held the camp in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The list of speakers includes Basketball Africa League (BAL) President Amadou Fall and Patriots Basketball Club Assistant Coach Liz Mills. Rwanda’s Patriots Club has qualified to compete in the BAL.
Aside a playing career in the NBA, Ghanaian-British International, Mensah-Bonsu played in Europe and represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.
Since his retirement, Pops has gone to become General Manager of NBA Gatorade League side Capital City Go-Go and has been a big supporter of the Black Lives Matter Movement.
