Basketballghana.com can confirm Chiefs Basketball Academy product Kofi Agyei is heading to Philippines after earning a scholarship to study and play at the Ateneo De Manilla University.
The announcement was made recently after the Academy product signed the scholarship offer from the celebrated Filipino institute.
Prior to the latest move for the standout Small Forward, Agyei had suited up for MPAC Elite Development Program based in the United Arab Emirates.
After excelling in the MPAC Elite Youth League, his performances convinced Ateneo authorities to hand him a scholarship offer he accepted.
Founder and Coach of Chiefs Academy Benjamin Sarpong has congratulated his former student on his latest success and wishes him well. Agyei is the latest product to earn an educational scholarship.
The athletic 6 foot 6 inch player can play the Power Forward position as he did on several occasions for three time Tema Basketball League (TBL) Champions Nungua Coldstore.
With Coldstore, Agyei won the league title twice before relocating to the Middle East; he was a TBL fan favourite noted for his explosive dunks.
