Basketballghana.com can confirm rising Ghanaian basketball player Derrick Fiifi Quansah is one four 7 footers on the East Carolina University Men’s Basketball Team.
This was confirmed when the official roster was named for the 2020-2021 season; all information on players were collated and published.
The first year player was listed at 7 feet with three teammates Ludgy Debaut, Charles Coleman and Edra Luster; Quansah is the only first year player among the lot.
He is expected to play limited minutes in his freshman year with the team due to the depth at the Center and Power Forward positions. Quansah likely stands at 6 foot 11 inches without shoes as listed at Hargrave Military Academy in High School.
This should allow Quansah to gradually improve his game after getting introduced to basketball quite late during his time in Ghana.
Quansah represents a growing number of Ghanaian youngsters in the US Men’s College basketball system hoping to make it to the professional level especially the NBA.
The upcoming season is to be played without fans in arenas completely or limited fans due to the corona virus that forced the previous campaign to end abruptly.
