Italian top flight basketball side Vanoli Cremona has officially unveiled Ghanaian-Italian Guard David Cournooh as its latest signing.
The unveiling took place this weekend after the veteran player moved from fellow Italian Serie A side Virtus Bologna where he spent two seasons. His move came in the aftermath of fellow Ghanaian Italian Awudu Abass signed for Bologna.
Cremona Owner Paolo Corradi was present at the unveiling and Cournooh expressed his desire to play for the club stating, “I can’t wait”.
The 30 year old player played extensively with Bologna as a member of the second unit in the Italian League and EuroCup and the team topped the league standings prior to the cancellation of the season due to COVID 19.
Cournooh is expected to play extensive minutes and challenge for a starting position for Cremona who finished sixth in the league.
In the 2019-2020 season, Cournooh averaged 4.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in 18 games in Italy and averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 12 EuroCup games.
