Basketballghana.com understands the second phase of renovation works at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court is about to get underway.
The facility, popularly known as the Chinese Court, recently had the rims and backboards replaced as promised by the Tema Basketball League (TBL) Management earlier this offseason.
The next phase of the renovation involves constructing washrooms for players and fans at the venue to improve sanitation at the TBL venue and improve fan experience during game days.
The latest development was communicated by Tema Basketball Association (TBA) Chairman Eric “Shabash” Tetteh in the aftermath of fixed rims.
“We will use this period to continue court refurbishment. New rims and backboards have been installed. Construction of a washroom and possibly painting of the court will follow shortly” he said.
The Tema League 2020 season is yet to commence due to the corona virus pandemic; the new season was in line to begin in April but had to be put on hold due to the fast spread of the virus.
Nungua Coldstore won the 2019 League title.
