In an interview with Basketballghana.com, three time paralympian Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe has stated he is waiting on authorities for approval to access allocated funds in the COVID 19 financial package.
This comes on the back of completing a vetting process setup to determine beneficiaries of the fund set up to alleviate the financial stress athletes have had to deal with because of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Wheelchair basketball player and racer is among a handful of parathletes selected as a potential beneficiaries once they meet all requirements of the vetting committee.
Speaking to Ghana’s biggest basketball portal, the veteran athlete who is set to launch his sports gear in the coming days said;
“Yes I have gone through the vetting we are now waiting for the approval of those who have qualified for…we are waiting”.
Nkegbe has qualified to next year’s Paralympics to be held in Tokyo; it is a record setting mark for a Ghanaian athlete since retired Football Osei Kofi competed in three Olympic Games.
