American born Ghanaian Guard Alhaji Mohammed has been signed to play in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) by Tunisian side US Monastir.
However, his run with the North African side has been disrupted by the COVID 19 pandemic that has forced the continental championship to be suspended until further notice.
That did not stop Monastir from clinching its second Tunisian Basketball League title in a row after bagging an 82-77 win over rival Etoile Sportive Rades in Game 2 of the Finals Series.
In Game One, Etoile lost 69-89 giving Monastir the lead heading to Game 2 which was played in Rades this past weekend after the final phase of the 2019-2020 season concluded.
The past season was halted due to the corona virus pandemic but returned in late July with Tunisia avoiding a major spread of the virus. At the time of writing, Tunisia has 1,717 confirmed cases with 1,265 recoveries and 51 deaths.
Etoile Sportive is the most successful league side in Tunisia; the title is Monastir’s fifth.
