Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian Center Nathan Mensah has been ranked first overall in a list of shot blockers in the Mountain West Conference in the US Men’s College Basketball landscape.
The rankings were compiled by US based news outlet Mountain West Wire and had the 20 year old 6 foot 10 inch Mensah at the top of the pile.
In his second season, Mensah was on track to an impressive campaign with San Diego State University before his run was cut short by a season ending pulmonary issue after 13 games.
As a starter, the budding prospect averaged 6.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 20.2 minutes in 13 appearances for the Aztecs.
His time on the court amounted to 264 minutes where he added 10 steals and four assists further highlighting his ability to affect a game in different ways.
Among the top ranked players in the Conference, Mensah had the highest mark in blocks (10.7%); Neemias Queta of Utah State University came in second with 7.8%.
Mensah is scheduled to compete in his third season for San Diego State.
