The Tema Basketball League (TBL) continues to support the campaign against the spread of the corona virus (COVID 19) that has crippled the sports industry.
At the time of writing Ghana has 29, 672 cases of infection with 26, 090 recoveries; as a result a ban on contact sports is in place to curb the spread.
In a Press Release issued earlier this week notifying clubs interested to compete in the 2020 season to register players, the League continued to call on the basketball fraternity to do its part to support the fight against.
“We would like to remind the basketball community in Ghana and the general public at large that we have a common enemy (COVID 19) to fight. Let us all stick to safety protocols so that we can this battle” the statement reads.
The ban has a tentative expiration date on July 31 and could be extended or ended based on the management of the virus. The League continues to prepare to play out the 2020 season albeit delayed.
