Titans (orange)-Knights in a regular season matchup

Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate the Under 19 Tournament that has been held over the past couple of years at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court is set to be replaced by an official Junior Basketball League.

The indication was brought up when Tema Basketball League Organizing Secretary Prince Owusu Anning confirmed plans for the Junior League to be attached to the main league in the coming seasons.

Since its inaugural season in 2015, the Tema League has carved out a solid niche as an exciting, interesting and innovative competition with improving standards.

To improve the standard of play particularly among young players, the league concept was hatched to give players the right amount of playing time to improve their skills and get them ready for their transition to the main league.

The Tema League 2020 season commencement is on ice due to a ban on all contact sports in Ghana as a means to slow the spread of the corona virus.

Changes are been made to spice up the upcoming season when the ban is lifted including changing the logo.
