Basketballghana.com gathers the Tema Basketball League will have a Junior League when the upcoming season commences and will feature young budding basketball players in Ghana.

This is according to League Organizing Secretary Prince Owusu Anning who stated the league’s intention in an interview with Hood2Hood Basketball recently.

The league is heading to its fifth season after the completion of the 2019 campaign that had Nungua Coldstore beat Spintex Knights in the Finals Series to win its third title.

Tipped to commence earlier this year, the League has been put on hold due to the rapid spread of the corona virus that has affected sports hard. There is a ban on all contact sports in the country and could be extended beyond a July 31 deadline.

Coach Emmanuel Quaye trains youngsters in Tema on Saturday mornings.

“We want to introduce the Junior League if it’s this year then yes this year we would want to introduce it but if the President decides to lift the ban next year then it has to be next year” he said.
