Basketballghana.com can confirm members of the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation have received items from the Federation.
The items were donated by Ghana’s Paralympic Committee and the Rebecca Akuffo-Addo Foundation earlier this year to aid the members cope with the COVID 19 outbreak.
The Rebecca Akuffo-Addo Foundation is the brainchild of Ghana’s First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and has been active in philanthropic activities over the years.
The items donated included bags of rice, cooking oil and bags of sanitizers and were received by the Federation President Max Vardon and General Secretary Wilson Agbesi.
Speaking with National Team Captain, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe on the subject, the veteran confirmed members in Accra have received the items and members in other regions have received their share.
“Yes they did and some of the other regions players have confirmed of receiving their items” he said when asked about the distribution.
Ghana has over 20,000 persons infected with the corona virus at the time of writing and there is a ban on all contact sports in the country until July 31.
