Basketballghana.com can confirm the Tema Basketball League has a new logo and has officially replaced the logo it has used over the past four seasons since the competition’s inception in 2015.
The change of logo is part of rebranding efforts by league organizers to “establish a strong social media presence” for the league in a country whose media landscape is dominated by football.
The simply laid out logo has the League initials “TBL” with a basketball and a Black Star which reports indicate was adopted from the Black Star in Ghana’s National Flag which represents hope for Africans.
Plans have also been made to improve facilities at the league venue-Tema Community 4 Court popularly known as the Chinese Court- to enhance fan experience during league games.
The 2020 season was scheduled to commence earlier this year but that has been put on hold due to a ban on contact sports in the West African nation as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Nungua Coldstore is the defending Champion after winning the 2019 season at the expense of Spintex Knights in the Finals Series.
