On his 50th birthday, Giants of Africa (GOA) Co-Founder Masai Ujiri has received a birthday wish from Ghana Power Forward Maxwell Amoafo.
The University of Saskatchewan player celebrated Ujiri on July 7-the latter’s birthday- and highlighted his impact on Amoafo’s life as a basketball player.
Amoafo participated in GOA’s Ghana edition where a handful of select players below 18 years were taken through mentorship and basketball skills training.
As one of the nation’s bright prospects, Amoafo was invited to the camp held at the University of Ghana a couple of years ago. He wrote on his Facebook wall:
“Happy Birthday to the President of the Toronto Raptors. Impacted a lot of lives through Giants of Africa. We appreciate you today.”
As President of the Raptors, former Nigerian basketball player Ujiri led the team to its first ever NBA title in 2019 at the expense of Golden State Warriors.
Amoafo is in line to compete in his senior year at the University of Saskatchewan in the upcoming season.
