Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate Ghana Power Forward Ben Bentil will stay at Panathinaikos for the 2020-2021 season.
While confirming the capture of American Guard Marcus Foster the Israeli League in a press conference, Panathiniaikos Coach George Vovoras relayed the information.
Bentil’s second season with the Greek giant was up in the air considering the exodus of foreign players from the Athens based team in the aftermath of the team’s financial outlook after it was put up for sale in June.
However, the confirmation means Bentil will see out the two year contract he signed in the 2019 offseason after departing fellow Greek side Peristeri GS.
Following the cancellation of the season due to the corona virus pandemic, Panathinaikos was voted as league winners by the league council after leading the standings prior to the cancellation.
In his debut season, the Sekondi native played 23 times in the EuroLeague and averaged 3.1 points and two rebounds in 9.1 minutes.
He has played in France, Spain and China in previous seasons.
