Ghanaian Forward Nathan Mensah is in line to play as the starting Power Forward or Center for San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team.
The 21 year old prodigy started games in the aforementioned positions for the Aztecs in his second year at the University and is set to return to the starting lineup for the 2020-2021 season.
Mensah lost his place in the starting unit due to health complications due to lung and heart issues; he was shut down for the season after playing 13 games.
The 6 foot 10 inch player averaged 6.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks as the Aztecs excelled in the 2019-2020 campaign and made it to the postseason competition (NCAA Tournament).
Reports indicated Mensah was on his way back to the lineup for the tournament before the spread of the corona virus had the season cancelled.
Mensah’s freshman year was also hindered by a hand injury; fellow Ghanaian Joel Mensah has transferred from San Diego to James Maddison University since the season ended.
