Basketballghana.com can confirm on authority that Francophone All Stars Basketball Club won’t compete in the 2020 Tema Community Basketball League season.
The news was confirmed by Team Captain Emmanuel Kuffour when Basketballghana.com contacted him after news emerged regarding the team’s intentions to exit the league.
This means the team made up of players from Francophone countries based in Ghana won’t feature in the upcoming season after a strong run in the campaign since its debut in 2018.
Francophone All Stars made it to two postseasons in as many campaigns but missed out on progressing to the finals series. The team’s back and forth matchup against Nungua Coldstore is still regarded as one of the best games in the league’s young history.
The news comes as league authorities continue to shape the roster for the upcoming campaign once the ban on contact sports in Ghana is lifted on July 31.
Tema Heat is another team that feature in the past campaign but won’t compete in the 2020 season after exiting as well.
