Basketballghana.com gathers plans are underway to renovate the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court popularly known as the Chinese Court in time for the start of the 2020 Tema Community Basketball League.

News trickling in indicates Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club General Manger Wendell Otoo will fund the first phase of the project.

Ghana’s biggest basketball portal can confirm the first phase of the project includes changing rims and backboards at the court that hosts Tema League games.

This is the latest philanthropic gesture from Otoo who bankrolls Coldstore; Otoo funded the repainting of the court in 2018 as part of Nungua Warehouse Ghana Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

Coldstore has competed in the Tema League since its inception in 2016 and won three league titles including the last two campaigns in 2018 and 2019.

The next phase of renovation includes repainting the court and building washrooms for fans and players at the facility.

League organizer Prince Owusu-Anning is leading the project that aims to improve the fun experience at league games and encourage the younger generation to get involved in the sport of basketball.
