Tema Community 4 Basketball Club Assistant Head Coach Nana Akowuah Asare is encouraging his players to prioritize personal training as a means to stay in shape as the league continues its wait for the start of the 2020 season.
A ban on contact sports in Ghana to prevent the spread of COVID 19 has prevented authorities from fixing a specific date for the commencement of the league’s fifth season.
The 2019 season ended earlier this year with Nungua Coldstore clinching its second title in a row; Community 4 missed out on a place in the finals after losing to Spintex Knights in the playoffs second round.
In a chat with Basketballghana.com, Asare said, “Since we can’t train as a team we have been encouraging players to take personal training serious and keep the game of basketball alive in their DNA”.
Community 4 has made a trio of signings including Power Forward Mubarak Alhassan in preparation for the upcoming season in response to losing two players from last season’s roster.
