Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club Coach, Manager and Bankroller Wendell Otoo has taken a swipe at Spintex Knights in the midst of a fierce arms race in the Tema Community Basketball League offseason.
In an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com, Otoo indicated his team isn’t affected by the exit of reigning League Most Valuable Player Award winner Joel Tham to Knights.
Tham played a key role in Coldstore’s sweep of Knights in the 2019 League finals helping Coldstore clinch its second title in a row and third overall since the league’s inception four years ago.
The Point Guard is the second Coldstore player to move to Spintex; following the 2018 title winning campaign, fellow Guard Kontor Appiah was signed by Knights.
“We are looking forward to the team that can stop us next season so they can keep on trading…taking our players doesn’t create holes in our team but it makes us stronger” Otoo said.
Coldstore is yet to make a splashy signing this offseason as the wait continues for the start of the 2020 season as Ghana continues its fight against COVID 19.
