Tema Community 4 Basketball Club Coach Nana Akowuah Asare stated in an interview with Basketballghana.com about the team’s intentions to replace departed players with quality replacements in an interview earlier this month and days down the line, he has delivered.
Akowuah promised to replace exits from the team including Muhaimin “Astro” Guba when Spintex Knights kick started a trading frenzy this offseason in the Tema Community Basketball League.
“These (trade) moves factor a lot and it sometimes changes the playing style of the team but not withstanding as a team if a player moves from our end there is always an assurance of perfect replacements” he said before C4 made three signings in as many days.
The team has signed Mubarak Alhassan, Mustapha Ahmed and Steven Foster with all three coming from Tema Heat; Ahmed and Alhassan play both Power Forward and Center positions.
2017 Tema League Champions C4 missed out on a place in the 2019 finals after falling to Spintex Knights in the second round of the playoffs.
The additions were made with an eye for a deeper playoff run in 2020.
